Rory is 16 years old when she returns to the only place on earth where she never expected to return, Beacon Hills, that small, boring town that had done nothing but break her heart and that in the end had never really been her home.
Ophelia is also 16 and has never left Beacon Hills, it is her home, despite everything that had happened, there where her heart was.

Rory is expecting just a boring year in a boring city, while Ophelia just wanted something interesting to happen in her life.
What neither of them knew, however, is that when night falls, enlightened only by the moonlight, well-kept secrets come to light, secrets that will turn their lives from a daydream to an endless nightmare.

Remaining both physically & mentally intact within the confines of Beacon Hills wasn't always a struggle for Rachel Hale.
