Not interacting with each other in public was detrimental to Sydney Greenburg and Jeremiah Fisher's relationship, if you could call secret hook-ups a relationship. Syd had been going to Cousins with her parents every summer since she was seven. She had come to know two of the boys in the house next door, Steven Conklin and Jeremiah Fisher.
Of course she knew them on different levels and absolutely did not let Steven know she knew Jeremiah. Syd needed a distraction from her parents screaming at each other all the time and she was never good with feelings so she never let anyone in and Jeremiah just needed someone to help distract him from his father acting like he needed to be as perfect as his older brother, he would never show it though.
