Death Returns

1825, near the western coast of the country Phasia, rests the kingdom of Grzech. A bleak place, inhabited by equally bleak people. The village, filled with fear, death, and poverty. And the castle on the hill looking over the village and it's residents, filled with secrets and mystery.

For being such a dark place, there's a certain time every year that the castle comes alive, opening it's doors only to those with wealth, privilege, and an invitation. Starting the first day of October and going all the way to the new year, a new celebration each night, drinking, dancing, laughing, talking, and anything else your heart could desire, including whatever sinister things the aristocratic mind can think of.

The townsfolk are absolutely forbidden to attend unless used for entertainment, while those with a high social status and high funds get to stay in the castle as guests, spending their days as they please, and attending the party of a lifetime when the sun begins to set. Once the new year rolls around, the guests leave in the dead of night and no one speaks of it when morning comes, as if it never happened.

Calian Banik, a traveling merchant of sorts, and a rather famous one at that, is invited to the three month long party at the castle. Given his family history and personal intrigue, how could he not attend? And while he's there, why not cause a bit of trouble, and remind the elitists of who they've welcomed into their home . . .
