But it would be naive to think the two beings could simply stay out of each other's way, when it's so obvious (and canon!) that they like each other.
Some even suggest they're in love.

Eventually, the archangels decide to take matters into their own hands when even after the not-apocalypse, the two stuck together instead of fighting for Heaven or Hell. Gabriel and Michael confront Aziraphale with a deal and if he is able to uphold his end, Heaven and Hell will leave Aziraphale and Crowley alone for the rest of eternity, but if he fails? Well, it might be the last time he sees Crowley.
