In the modern day, the world was just as plain and boring as always. That's why video games had existed, to take away from the monotony of life. One of these games, Elden Ring, was one of the most popular; loved by nearly all gamers for us grandiose scale and intriguing story.

However no one could have expected any of it to be real. No one expected that one day, on a normal Sunday evening, a golden canopy would shroud over the sky as the golden Erdtree sprouted from the earth.

"Arise now, ye Tarnished. Ye dead, who yet live. The call of long-lost grace speaks to us all!" It was a simple, yet grand purpose to those given a second chance by the Light of Grace. To become Elden Lord and claim the Elden Ring. Many would be emboldened by the flame of that ambition, and many more would perish at the hands of those who wished nothing more than to see the Tarnished dead. Such was the way things were in the Lands Between, shattered and fractured to the point of chaos between its residents. Only a select few would be guided by Grace, however only one would truly be gifted with something incredible. A gift that would render the physical well-being of a soul... unworried in the face of death. Yet the mind of that same individual would only be further damaged from it. So what did it mean to have true immortality? A blessing? Or merely a foul curse in disguise? One Tarnished warrior would grow bitter to it nonetheless, all the while cherishing the one gift he truly had. A friend. One he would do anything to protect, and one he would grow to love in spite of fate itself. This is an Elden Ring Two-Shot story; a Male reader X Melina story. ||Book 1 of the Diamond Series|| The world had fallen into chaos a long time ago. Creatures came and enslaved the human race: Vampires, Lycans/Werewolves and Demons. They took and slaughtered thousands of innocent people. Men, Women and Children. After suffering for ten years, another set of beings came. They had enormous wings and a shining silver rings floating above their heads. Rings that could be used as a weapon if necessary. These creatures were called 'Angels'. They were kind and honestly the opposite of every supernatural creature that existed in that era. They built their kingdom protecting as many humans as they could but the dark creatures had other things planed. There was a war that broke out. Every man for themselves or more specifically, every creature for themselves. The war went on for almost 500 years. Then there was a woman. She wasn't an Angel or Vampire or Lycan or Demon. Turns out she was a hybrid of all four. More powerful than anything. No one knows for sure how this hybrid was made and at some point, no one cared. Her name was Elaka. She was seen as a priestess. Elaka was the savior of all humans. She created a boarder and the world was divided in two: The Land of Light; was so peaceful that it had to be shielded from the world. Elaka had put a protective hidden wall around the kingdom so no one would come in unless brought in by the citizens. There were humans that lived there and their lives were a paradise. And total peace. And there was the Dark land. Where every other creature lived. The three major kingdoms tolerated each other for as long as they could. Years passed without war. Until Elaka suddenly vanished. Without her, the world would become chaotic again. The crystal was lost in the forest. So many have searched for it but never succeeded. Even if they ever found it, the legend says it was set in stone. It was glued to a tree and only 'The Diamond in The Rough' could pull it out. That person was never found.

Appearing in a world with no identity and no purpose, Steve searches the hostile world of Minecraft in search of those very things. Turns out life is a whole lot harder when you don't know why you're living it. Ever since he first opened his eyes, he has always been drowning. Drowning in trials; lessons; questions... Never is there a moment wasted. The question is: who, is the human? Where, is the human? What, is the human? Which, is the human. How, is the human? When, is the human? Why is he here, alone? Proper description draft: Imagine how you would feel if you suddenly woke up, drowning? Imagine if you were stuck in a mysterious world, fighting. What would you do if you lived out years of your life, alone? Yeah...you get it.. This isn't a story about friendship, or even surviving. No... This is about a man named Steve, who was, truly..the last human... (A series of short stories that together make up one big story.. but is not a full book.... It made more sense in my head. 'XD ,) Inspired by the official MC book: "The Island" ..as well as the hidden lore in the game itself, mostly dug up in theory videos, over on "Game Theory".... and, my own self, role playing with myself for too long in single player worlds where I don't invite anyone to join. :P Please keep in mind that this ISN'T an origin story. Reading with that mind-set might only ruin the story for you. Book cover created by MEEE! No steal please! (Content rated as 13+ for explicit depictions of violence and ANGST!)
