“One cannot run a kingdom alone, Leta. I need assistance. You studied to become a warrior when you were alive. A soldier willing to defend her kingdom. The gods are at war, Leta. And I need an army. If you accept my offer, you can become an immortal soldier, feared throughout eternity. I can give you this future, this power. I can make you a legend. All I ask in return is you eternal allegiance.”
Leta died. But, as she will soon find out, death isn't the end for everyone. Leta is given a second chance at life, but with a catch: she must serve in the army of Occidus, the god of death. Allying with a mysterious mind reader, an intelligent coward, and and a friend she can't remember, Leta seeks out her destiny in a world where a war between gods and humanity rages, though even Leta isn't sure what side she is supposed to be on. Lies are told, secrets are hidden, and Leta must try to survive in a world that wants her gone forever.
There's always something that hides in the dark. Whether it be evil or good, there's something that lurks in it that wants to find its way out.
What if that darkness becomes your solace?
Margaret Skotous is a troubled person. Her whole life has been nothing but loneliness and neglect. Her personality is somewhat of a shy exterior and a stubborn interior. She has trouble trusting anyone she meets. She speaks her mind through her thoughts, but is too afraid to actually voice them. Turning eighteen in three days, she expects it to be any other normal birthday. However, it's far from it. A new teacher starts in the middle of the semester due to a sudden situation for the staff before them. This new teacher at school not only peaks the town's attention, but Margaret's as well. She feels as though she has known this man her whole life the moment she meets his eyes. This mysterious man isn't alone, however, with other people randomly transferring to her school wanting to be friends with her. Once strange dreams begin plaguing her life, Margaret is suddenly thrown into a civil war of gods and goddesses of an age long past. There's only one thing that seems to be important in the midst of all of this:
She may have been the cause of it all.
