Vagabond Ivan

After the devastating final battle against demonkind for the fate of their world, one of the heroes of humanity, a deeply scarred man, defeated his inner demons alongside the outer ones. The bloodshed was over, but this particular hero still carried an unresolved trauma within himself. At one point, for reasons he has yet to understand, he murdered friend and foe, commiting artrocities that would have any regular man locked up for eternity. However, due to his status as hero and ultimately positive contributions to the war effort, he was allowed to remain a free man.

With his power contained through a special seal as a precaution by the other heroes, they left him to himself. They then returned home, celebrated for their deeds, their names imprited in history with golden letters. He, on the other hand, couldn't do such a thing anymore. Still plagued by his past actions, he embarks on a journey without a destination. Travelling the lands, he lives a life of humility and self-isolation, helping the people in need and trying to atone for his sins. But what was the end goal for our hero? Would he try to regain the part of himself that he lost on this journey, finding peace of mind? Or was this his final punishment? An endless cycle of self-torment, travelling, forming bonds and being one step away from happiness, just to have it ripped away by none other than yourself?

Vagabond Ivan is the afterstory of Isekai Losers, a little project I did for fun cuz I was thinking about it lots and just had to write down something xd. It's quite short, and I probably won't be writing more until I finish Isekai Losers (in approx. 15 years) but yeah, it exists.
