Everyone from birth has a soulmate counter that counts down until the time you will finally meet your soulmate. If your soulmate ends up dying before the timer his zero, it just disappears. Ever since Liam was six, his countdown would disappear for a few minutes, and then would come back at an even shorter time than before. On the day his countdown is set to run out, he meets a new group of young people that look to be out of place at the small diner he works at, and the person that seems to be in the middle of it all is his soulmate Kai.
Kai had never really cared about the whole soulmate thing and had never been very careful with anything in his life. He had several scars from all his near death experiences to prove it. As his countdown is finally drawing to a close, he heads to a diner with his group of friends to end up being face to face with the person that is meant to be his soulmate. The problem is his soulmate is a man, and not a single person he knows would be OK with that and these aren't people you want to upset.
