In the Deep, there are certain rules set:
1. Never cross territories that aren't yours.
2. Never hunt food that isn't yours.
3. Never show mercy.
4. Never go to the shore.
These rules were biologically embedded into the Deep folk to keep the past from repeating itself. Arya goes out of her way to break these rules to survive. In return, a creature of the Deep follows her to shore and will do anything to accomplish its mission: to drag her to the Deep. With the help of new friends, Arya and her human, Mack, will discover what's truly hidden in the dark depths of the ocean. And what it truly means to fall for someone from a different world.

Can they defy fate when their enemy wrote the rules? As a linguistics student and book nerd, Eric didn't think it was his fate to be surrounded by powerful women or to travel a road filled with danger and magic. But when he picks up a dusty vintage book from an antique store, he finds himself surrounded by Light lords, Dark lords, and Sirens-the ancient, winged keepers of a delicate balance between worlds invisible to humans. Telese, the brazen Siren who appears in Eric's dorm room, has tried to distance herself from humans while working to keep the balance between the Light World, which wants humans to progress, and the Dark World, which wants humans eradicated. After millennia of unwilling loyalty to her all-powerful father-whose orders are as calculated and heartless as his punishments for defying them-Telese fears his latest order could mean the end of humans and Sirens both. Telese's yearning for freedom and Eric's passion for knowledge bring them together in a dangerous alliance. They must challenge their old beliefs to bring together the warring Light and Dark Worlds, reveal magic to humans, and rally the Sirens against the father-leader who wrote their rules. Can Eric and Telese save humans and create a united, harmonious system of rule, or will the worlds they must align fall victim to their hubris? *** Hubris is now published through Balance of Seven Publishing. [Fairytale Series, Book 4] The underwater kingdom of Narmia had been left alone for millennia. It was forgotten from history books, and never appeared in maps. Princess Arya, fourth in line to the throne, had grown up with the knowledge that Narmia could support itself, with no outside help needed. Despite her desire to explore beyond, to rise to the surface and see the legendary 'land' for herself, she remained within the walls of her kingdom, deterred from her adventures by her stern, overprotective father. However, Narmia was thrown into chaos when the demons attacked. None of the merfolk had seen such dark creatures. Their army didn't stand a chance. Afraid for the lives of her people, Arya entered the world beyond Narmia, heading towards where she thought was 'land', desperate for help. Her battered, unconscious body was found by Nam, a Dorlae boy, a day later. Although he isn't at all what Arya expected land-dwellers to be, she is relieved when he agrees to help her save Narmia. But as Nam, joined by a few others, gain their very own tails and follow Arya back to her kingdom, she wonders if they will be enough. --------------------------------------------------- Based on The Little Mermaid (ft. The Chronicles of Narnia).
