Bruce obsesses over a man he just saved after he asks him the one question Bruce never wanted to be asked:

"Are you the Batman?"

After being led on a cat and mouse chase for months, Bruce is determined to find out who the man is and why he recognizes the Batman. From there begins an unconventional relationship of love, hate, and loss as the two secretly work together on opposite sides of the law to bring justice to the city of Gotham.
