On December 21, 2012, the world didn’t end like everyone expected it to. It didn’t all of a sudden combust or have aliens invade. No epidemic spread throughout the earth only killing the people that were not immune. 

The world ended because people killed people. Governments became corrupted by a group of terrorists called the Extremists, who bombed places all around the world killing millions of people. 

Now Maria (18) is fighting for her life and her sister's(12) with the help of 1221 the resistance. However when Maria is captured and tortured by the Extremists who cannot convert her into being a blank-slate (human without emotions) she falls in love with an older man who she believes cannot be converted either. Soon she finds herself trying to save humanity from the Extremists, trying to find her little sister and jumping through several hoops of falling in love. 

In the end will she live or will she sacrifice everything for the people she loves?
