She had done something unforgivable. Put me in danger many times, almost ruined my dreams, made me believe that love exists between us but it was all a lie. A lie brought by her desperation for love that was once taken from her. And I don't want to sugarcoat her mistakes. She had done damage to me to the point that I felt like I was a compensation for all the pain she experienced in her past. She's taking it all on me. She became wicked and I couldn't recognize her. But then... maybe we're brought together so I could show her hope. That kindness and love isn't always linked on what is over. That she could move forward, forgive herself and make her realized that she doesn't always have to get back to the past to be love in the present. The past was only there to remind us of the road we took and not to torment us. Is it worth it though? Does she deserve my forgiveness after wrecking me? Does she deserve my love after all? Loving someone means committing to them; we have to love their flaws, especially their past. We can't love a person just because of their good side because we also have to deal with their dark phase. I was there in your darkest but also is the reason why you were there. What if because I was waiting for the right time to come, I ran out of so many chances? At some point in my life, I choose to let go of her. And not because I stopped loving her, but because I had reached the point that I was drained and can no longer continue fighting for her when all she gives me in return is pain. It's not about asking to get my feelings reciprocated, I just realized that I deserve the same amount of love that I am giving. And it hurts to know that when I decided to let go, she didn't hold my hand to keep holding on. She never tried to fight for her place in my heart. -Hariette I'm not afraid of love.
