In the land of Hyrule, events of eerie nature unfold pretty often. When things are calm and quiet, it almost feels like something is brewing in the shadows, waiting to reveal itself. Even when people yearn for serenity and stillness, an unusual occurrence is necessary to make the day feel complete. With many inexplicable incidents throughout the kingdom, the citizens grapple with more than just the looming threat of Calamity Ganon's return. That was your purpose. 100 years passed since the defeat of the Champions, although one remained. The one you were to help once he awoke from his slumber. BotW is set 100 years after Calamity Ganon struck Hyrule, Link, the main protagonist, must fight against this overlying evil through boss fights (Stone taluses, the Blights or Ganon itself) and monsters. Mipha, Daruk, Revali and Urbosa had died to Waterblight, Fireblight, Windblight and Thunderblight and helped Link as spirits. But what if they had been healed or saved before they died? Would this mean a happy ending for everybody, finally?

It is soon revealed that some of the dark lord's dreaded malice wasn't completely eradicated upon his defeat. The very little that remains seeks to try and rewrite history in Ganon's favor, by going back in time and erasing the existence of the four late champions. Now, it's up to the knight and princess duo to go back in time to try and stop the malice from destroying the kingdom they treasure and the friends they dearly loved.
