adrien and marinette are both abused. they don't really talk to one another in their civilian forms. but, to escape their abusive backgrounds and reality, they transform into the superheroes that save the city on the daily. in this story, marinette's parents are divorced because of tom's abuse towards sabine, marinette hasn't seen her mom in years and now has a step-mom and a step-brother. adrien's mom is dead and natalie tries her best to make him happy, despite the abuse he gets from his father.
