Greed is the inordinate desire to possess wealth, goods, or objects of abstract value with the intention to keep it for one's self, far beyond the dictates of basic survival and comfort. It is applied to a markedly high desire for and pursuit of wealth, status, and power. Greed is the root to all evil.
The Universe is vastly populated with life on many different planets. In the very center of the universe is a Crystal that offers protection to all that it's light touches. When one planet's inhabitants get greedy, wanting the protection and power it could bring all for themselves, a universal war breaks out. The Crystal is shattered into thousands of pieces.
An evil from the greedy planet is collecting all of the pieces of the crystal, offering protection to those that help him. They invade planets, taking no mercy on it's inhabitants as they scour the lands looking for the pieces. He has collected enough of the Crystal already to be the most powerful, impenetrable being in all of the universe.
Rising through the stars is a group of "kids" that are out to save the universe.
