Raven is your typical anti-social teenager who prefers to spend time alone, reading comics and watching anime. She doesn't hate her classmates, she just doesn't have a desire to socialize. So, when the new exchange student approaches her during lunch one day, she is surprised by his request to sit with her. 

The two realize that they have quite a bit in common and enjoy each other's company, thus beginning a friendship that is sure to last for a very long time. Their friendship is sealed when they attend Free Comic Book Day at Gotham City Limits, a local comic book store. Despite the sweltering heat, the two of them are excited.
