After a bad car crash Joel is forced to move back to his home town to live with his dad and his new family, adapting to change is hard but even harder when the transition is as subtle as being beaten by a baseball bat and it goes as well as you'd think it would especially with grappling a more than tumultuous relationship with an ex best friend and your current one.
Alex after years of holding up his reputation is hit with a Joel sized wrench when his ex best friend moves back into town, but if a reputation or persona is that easy to break apart when it comes down to someone you haven't seen in so long then maybe there were cracks in the insulation from the start.
