Annabeth James has always wondered who her birth parents are. She's asked her foster parents, but they say the adoption agency has no record on where she came from. When Annabeth was found, she was wearing a pocket watch with a strange charm attached to it. This is all she has of her parents. That is until one night, after her 15th birthday, she has a vision. The image is blurry but she manages to make out the faces of a man and a woman, who she believes to be her parents. Their lips are moving, but she can't hear their words. She feels the ground rumble beneath her. Then there is a thunderous clap, and everything goes black. Annabeth has that vision everyday now. Each time she does, the vision gets stronger and she starts to faintly hear their words. She wonders if this is a clue as to who her parents are, and why let her go. Soon she starts to have more visions, each one more puzzling than the last. When Annabeth starts recognizing the 11 other teens from her visions, she realizes there's more to her story than what she thought. Annabeth's questions are soon answered when a mysterious force brings all twelve kids together. There they learn just how connected they truly are.
