A pH data logger measures pH in machines equipped with a pH sensor. A pH sensor is a device that converts the hydrogen ion concentration in a solution into an electrical signal. The electrical signal is then amplified and converted to a digital signal by a pH Data Logger. A pH sensor is the most common type of glass electrode. A glass electrode is a thin glass tube filled with a special solution. The solution inside the glass tube is buffered to a known pH. When a glass electrode is placed in a solution, hydrogen ions in the solution diffuse through the glass and into the buffer solution. This change in the concentration of hydrogen ions causes a change in the electrical potential across the glass electrode.
