'By The Bed Of The Creek' navigates us through the disheartening and devastating story of a 16-year-old Punjabi girl, Tej, during the Punjab-Pakistan partition in mid-August 1947. After witnessing the earth-shattering murders of her father and cousin, Tej miraculously fled Moga Punjab on the back of a cow buggy with the help of a handsome young boy named Veer. After a treacherous journey that led her to Lahore, Pakistan; she realizes that there is no turning back, and even worse, nobody to turn to that really loved her; or so she thought. We feel her distress as she is tossed down each rusted link in the seemingly never-ending chain of tragic events that go from bad to worse.
