Jason West moved to Queens, New York with his mom to begin life anew, but the truth is he can't outrun his traumatic past. Nobody knows what really happened to him- not even his mom who he's sure would abandon him if she found out the truth. Jason is hopelessly lost in the struggles of trauma and fears nothing will ever change. It's clear that he's a boy with scars all over his body, but open, bleeding wounds in his heart.
But hope arises for him when he meets up with an old childhood friend he was disconnected from him some time ago, that went through a dark time of her own, and wishes to share the sunlight she found with him. Jason will heal on an epic internal journey, and with the love of those around (and above) him he will grow up from under the concrete of his struggles and realize just how strong he can be.
