Talvi, is a nice, helpful and studious young girl! Abandoned by her parents, she has lived with Kjartan and his son Sven for as long as she can remember! Both have always been kind to her and Kjartan always gave her plenty to eat and drink! She was adopted by Kjartan, so to speak, and lived from then on in the fortress of Dunholm when it was conquered by Kjartan!

But when one day Sven makes a big mistake and Kjartan loses all his lands and titles as a result, his mood changes and Talvi became the victim of his tantrums more and more often! Sven and Talvi grew older and one day Sven got a half-brother! His name was Sihtric and he was a smart, kind, sincere and brave little fellow! As he grew older and stronger, Kjartan saw him as a threat and reminded him every day that he was a bastard!

Talvi saw Sihtric as her little brother and he saw her as his big sister! The two were inseparable and Talvi caught all the blows that were actually meant for Sihtric! Their bond was stronger than Kjartan's desire for revenge and that caused anger in Kjartan and Sven!

When Sihtric was 18, he was sent with some of Kjartan's men to capture Uhtred Ragnarsson and bring him to Dunholm! Talvi said goodbye to Sihtric and prayed that he would come back alive and get her out of her hell! But she quickly lost hope, after he did not return for days and the heads of all the men sent out, hung on spikes in front of Dunholm, she feared the worst!

Then one day, Ragnar Ragnarsson, attacked her adoptive father and killed him in battle! Sven was also killed and Thyra was finally free! Uhtred and Ragnar tried to get her to travel with them, but she remained stubborn for now and went back to her cell! Suddenly Talvi spotted Sihtric in the crowd and ran to hug him!

She was attracted to Ragnar and wanted to get to know him better, but he already had a wife...

Will they fall in love with each other?
