"I chose prompt no. 4, the sentence "The red arrow pin-pointed out our destination precisely on the map". I interpreted this prompt as a person trying to reach a certain destination. In the case of this story, it is about a dissident exiled to Yakustsk who is trying to catch a ride on the Trans-Siberian railway to go back to St. Petersburg. I wrote about him trying to find accommodation to spend the night. The story is written in third person, and in past tense. It is set in the late 19th century Russian empire, in Siberia." - My statement of intent
