Caleb Baker has lived in Holly Plains, a small town, his whole life. On his fourteenth summer, he expects it to be like any other: baseball, his birthday, and barbecues. However, the town is stirred up when Joey Giordano and his father move from the city. Despite assumptions, Caleb befriends Joey, who proves himself to be different from most boys in his town. Caleb finds he is able to talk to Joey and relate to him. It isn't long before Caleb realizes the sparks between them.
