A woman attempted self-immolation in front of the SP office in Mahasamund district on Thursday. The woman, who is a resident of the बघेरा area, was protesting against the alleged police inaction in a land dispute case. She was rescued by the police and admitted to a hospital.

The woman said that she had been trying to get the police to investigate the land dispute for several months, but they had not taken any action. She said that she was forced to take the drastic step because she was desperate.

The police have said that they are investigating the matter.
