As the firework display lightened the night sky, the festive town hall suddenly felt eerily dark and long.

Whispers of fear passed through the crowd, but no one could pinpoint the source of their discomfort.

she entered the seemingly endless corridor, the hall stretched out before her, the walls elongating and distorting like a funhouse mirror.

As she entered the town hall, she was shocked to find herself transported into an alternate dimension. The once lively and bustling space was now eerily quiet, with flickering lights casting long shadows.

he followed the elongated corridor, only to discover a hidden underground tunnel system beneath the town hall.


In this mysterious plot twist, the festive town hall transforms into a dark and elongated space, leading the characters on unexpected journeys filled with secrets, alternate dimensions, and hidden tunnels. As they navigate through the eerie surroundings, they uncover a web of mysteries, corruption, and parallel universes, ultimately changing the course of their investigations and challenging their perceptions of reality.

When she's offered an out from her prison sentence, she embarks on a dangerous interstellar expedition along with 18 of Earth's most intelligent criminals. Their task is to set up a base on a supposedly habitable planet and prepare it for colonization. Although the planet has liquid water and a breathable atmosphere, it is believed to host only microbial life. However, upon arriving, Shawn and the rest of the colonists learn that assumption was grossly incorrect. In a brutal attack from rampaging wildlife, everyone but Shawn and four other colonists are killed. The five survivors retreat to the cavernous network beneath the ground seeking safety, but they soon come to a terrible discovery. These caves aren't ordinary caves, and they are no safer down under than they were on the surface. [][][] This was originally my entry for the 2021 Open Novella Contest, and it received an honorable mention! It has now been expanded into a full length novel.
