MEPS (Military Entrance Processing Station) is a department of defense (DoD) joint-service organization. Their job is to determine an applicants physical qualifications, aptitude and moral standards as set by each branch of military service, Department of Defense (DoD), and federal law. Here's an overview of what you can expect when you make that first trip to MEPS. Also included is my personal experience visiting the MEPS.
