Alice Ford, a preacher's daughter, is a young woman living at the beginning of the twentieth century. Though she is a well-respected school teacher, she has always felt like she has never quite fit in with her family or the townsfolk around her. She's boyish, hard-working, artistic, and reflective. Her whole life she is haunted by the thought that there is something more to the life than the one she is living.

With the threat of America entering the war, she is soon faced with personal tragedy and discovers a truth that will forever change her life and the course of where she is headed.

This narrative, told in the third person, tells the story of an unshakable legacy left of a world that has since been forgotten.

While they both are attending college, Lindsay's parents send her money every week unlike her counterpart. She doesn't quite understand Isabella's struggle. One night, a very hard day in particular for Isabella, Lindsay tells her to relax and play her new game which so happened to be Red Dead Redemption 2. Isabella refuses because she's not a gamer and she's absolutely exhausted which Lindsay never understands..but she instead agrees to watch her and chills with a beer in hand.. but hours go by and Lindsay somehow convinces her to play. She instantly gets hooked to the story and the character Arthur Morgan. It's like a book but the details and the visuals quench her every need in ways that a book couldn't. That night she decides to look for clues and secrets online..but her phone acts weird. She accidentally opened a "dark browser" that hacks her PS4 and phone. She waves it off as if it is nothing and goes to bed...but when she wakes up, her whole life has changed.. to her disbelief she wakes up in the cool hills of the Cumberland Forest. A mysterious voice from above offers her a deal, if she saves Arthur, she can come home. The kicker is.. she only has five chances to save him or...game over.

Not being able to enjoy any of the pleasures a young woman was afforded, she had little time to socialize or see what the world had to offer. She does not have any inclination as to how such an event, which was commonplace at her place of work, would change her life...and his.
