Unable to pay the tuition costs, Gen begins bartering to raise money to attend this semester long program. A place where she might finally feel visible. You're right, I've been nothing but awful since we met, driving you away yet desperate to keep you close" My heart clinches, but I dared not breathe. Too afraid to give in, too afraid that if I reach for the phone, I'll call. I'll call to make it right. I want to make it right, because this man affects me more than I ever thought he would. But it isn't right. I can't give myself false hope. "Please just talk to me, let me explain. It's not you.....it's me. I'm the asshole. You don't deserve this, you didn't. ..."
