SYNOPSIS:

A famous streamer in Tokyo is killed live on the internet by what appears to be a swarm of drones. The web goes into meltdown posing questions about the death. Where did the drones come from? Why was he killed? And why was the secretive A-Clan following him?

Casey Morgan, a younger, less-than-famous streamer with a murky past is determined to find out why.

Meanwhile, in parts of New Orleans that aren't underwater, Jaella Loreto is about to have the most important meeting of her life, with one of the richest men in the world. The opportunity presented to work with his son is enormous, but is he truly what he seems? And why is his son doing deals with dark web illuminati in Mumbai?

Jaella needs to find out before a non-disclosure clause in their agreement has literally explosive consequences.

Flung into the middle of it all is Dabb, a game designer whose friendly conversational AI agent, Yena, is having a minor meltdown, and starting to make eerily precise predictions about the company he works for. Dabb just wants to chill out in VR, but trouble is brewing in gaming-land, and the virtual world is no safe-haven anymore.

From climate change to quantum computing to social media, limo drivers with augmented strength and hackers with ethical dilemmas, Beneath a Quantum Sky is a heart-pulsing, action-filled story traversing flood-filled cities in North America to the beaten down slums of Asia, exposing the consequences of inaction in the face of serious threats, and what the rich and powerful might do to protect their own.

Fans of Daniel Suarez, Ramez Naam, Neal Asher or William Gibson will love Beneath A Quantum Sky.

Fountellion in THE SPIRAL: Greenwise & the Nature of the Game by Ademc77
45 parts Complete
A gateway to a long-awaited, always-online virtual island (an 'Autonomous World' or 'Permaworld') has opened for those who've found a key. This includes Dan Harvester, a guy who lives in a run-down apartment with his cat and runs a gaming channel. He's almost done playing and testing VR games, but this one could be his final chance to - truly - level up. What can it promise to him, and all its very first 'pioneers'? 'Fountellion'...is said to be 'natural' game-world, a N.E.P. world (Naturally-Evolving PermaWorld) full of artificial life that mimics the laws of our own natural world, with its shaping force of evolution. The game promises to be more than an open-world survival experience, for there are seven 'Insights' scattered and every player can find their own path to them. How much will Dan be changed, by his own search? A game-within-a-game or a simulated homage to the natural world? A complete vision of a 'metaverse' design which overgrows or salvages addicted players? There is only one way to find out: Tune in and experience Dan's 'avalogs'. For only by completing them and the fragments from the development, may you too discover the vision and legacy of 'Fountellion'... Notes: Please be aware this is speculative sci-fi, and includes outlines for an actual game-world within the story. The project is also decentralised and open source. Fountellion: Echoes of Bleakmuse by Ademc77
10 parts Complete
In a cyberpunk future where the Earth is on the brink of collapse, the virtual world of 'Fountellion' offers humanity a final chance to confront a rogue AI and reshuffle its own imbalanced priorities. Can a game really achieve this? But this is no ordinary game. Fountellion is artificially alive, its ecosystem evolving, its seasons shifting, and its balance hanging by a thread. Raze, a disaffected player from the neon-drenched streets of London, stumbles upon a mysterious key that grants them access to this strange, untamed realm. Guided by the enigmatic Greenwise, Raze must re-navigate the island's regions, each tied to a forgotten aspect of the human spirit. Along the way, he will unlock Insights - powerful truths about nature, survival, and his own soul. But Fountellion is not without its dangers. The Bleak Lord Muse, a shadowy NPC figure born from humanity's ambition for control and power, seeks to corrupt the island and bend it to its will, which extends beyond the game itself. His Stokers - twisted, stolen avatars - hunt those who stray too far from the path, draining their Energy and turning them into soulless servants of Bleakmuse's unknown designs. As Raze progresses, he must choose: Will he succumb to the lure of control, or will he embrace the wisdom of the Insights and restore balance to Fountellion? The journey will test his survival skills, his connection to the land, and his very humanity. In this immersive, postmodern world where nature and technology collide, 'Fountellion: Echoes of Bleakmuse' is a gripping tale of discovery, danger, and the search for meaning in a world on the edge of destruction.' ----- Fans of cyberpunk, virtual reality, and environmental storytelling will be drawn into Fountellion, and beyond...
Akropolis by hcedwards
9 parts Complete Mature
"Any thought you ever had; memories, desires, your fears and your dreams, are all recorded and stored safely in the Quantum Cloud for your eventual revival. Death is now merely a transitional period to the next stage of your existence. As a QUBIT (quantum processing biosynthetic), you will experience a life free of disease and suffering. Time is no longer your enemy. Regret is a thing of the past. Each new day brings the promise of endless possibilities, spent in the pursuit of your own happiness, guiltless with the knowledge that there are no longer earthly constraints to inhibit you. This is the life you have always wanted. Welcome to your new beginning..." Akropolis is a city at the end of times, a sanctuary where the brightest and best have been housed since the last Great War. A genome defect has afflicted the majority of the population and scientists are desperate to find a cure. In the meantime, man has found his own salvation in the form of the QUBIT (quantum processing bio-synthetic), an android that is capable of prolonging life almost indefinitely, and yet what makes them human in the first place has been lost in the transition. The ruling council believes that salvation is nigh, but whether that hope arrives in time is questionable. The city's future depends upon the actions of a few individuals, all of whom are struggling with their own mortality. Quentin is the boy who dreams of death. Mia is the tortured soul. Trey is the soldier that defines duty. Misao is the future of the ruling council. Claire is the girl with a secret that will rock the foundations of their entire civilization. Unbeknownst to them, the entire fate of Akropolis lies in their hands. Either humanity will find a way to survive or it will sink slowly into the sea of extinction.

No one ever knows the whole story... Nestled deep in the forests of the Pacific Northwest, something is emerging. Kept in absolute secrecy, it seeps into a fading town, quietly shared from person to person. For Alden Bensen, a directionless high school graduate, this discovery could mean an escape from his empty existence. To Rachel DuValle, perpetually underestimated and dismissed by the world, magic represents a chance to become something much greater than herself. In the face of an unsuspecting world, their decisions shape the growth of a budding society discovering untold power. This potent force offers anyone the power to change humanity forever - or send it cascading into swift and total annihilation. ----- The Last Science is an ongoing science-fiction / low-fantasy web novel series. Jensi, a teen boy, sees the world a little differently than everyone else. With a lot of time to himself, due to being incredibly shy, he gets to see more of what's around him. Ivan sees it too. A very hyper teen with boundless energy and a very outgoing spirit. The two opposites join forces to figure out this mystery surrounding the world as a whole. Will they figure out the conspiracies before too many people around them get hurt in the process? Or will this come crashing down on them and the people they care about? Find out in Book 1 of "The A.I. Protoforms" by Isaiah Tuttle. (Me) ;) Unless this book does really well, I am not going to finish this book.
