SYNOPSIS:
A famous streamer in Tokyo is killed live on the internet by what appears to be a swarm of drones. The web goes into meltdown posing questions about the death. Where did the drones come from? Why was he killed? And why was the secretive A-Clan following him?
Casey Morgan, a younger, less-than-famous streamer with a murky past is determined to find out why.
Meanwhile, in parts of New Orleans that aren't underwater, Jaella Loreto is about to have the most important meeting of her life, with one of the richest men in the world. The opportunity presented to work with his son is enormous, but is he truly what he seems? And why is his son doing deals with dark web illuminati in Mumbai?
Jaella needs to find out before a non-disclosure clause in their agreement has literally explosive consequences.
Flung into the middle of it all is Dabb, a game designer whose friendly conversational AI agent, Yena, is having a minor meltdown, and starting to make eerily precise predictions about the company he works for. Dabb just wants to chill out in VR, but trouble is brewing in gaming-land, and the virtual world is no safe-haven anymore.
From climate change to quantum computing to social media, limo drivers with augmented strength and hackers with ethical dilemmas, Beneath a Quantum Sky is a heart-pulsing, action-filled story traversing flood-filled cities in North America to the beaten down slums of Asia, exposing the consequences of inaction in the face of serious threats, and what the rich and powerful might do to protect their own.
Fans of Daniel Suarez, Ramez Naam, Neal Asher or William Gibson will love Beneath A Quantum Sky.
Jensi, a teen boy, sees the world a little differently than everyone else. With a lot of time to himself, due to being incredibly shy, he gets to see more of what's around him. He looks at his surroundings instead of just the person in front of him.
When weird things start happening and someone else sees it , he realizes that what he sees may not be his imagination.
Ivan sees it too. A very hyper teen with boundless energy and a very outgoing spirit. The two opposites join forces to figure out this mystery surrounding the world as a whole.
Will they figure out the conspiracies before too many people around them get hurt in the process? Or will this come crashing down on them and the people they care about?
Find out in Book 1 of "The A.I. Protoforms" by Isaiah Tuttle. (Me) ;)
