Born on June 3rd, 2000, Legai Artorian was only 1 years old when he lost his father to the terrible events of 9/11. His mother, Jennifer, does her best to take care of him on her own, and it got a lot harder when his powers unexplicably appeared. She was stressed, having to help him through things she didnt understand, raising him alone and and keeping him away from the public. So when she's blindsided by the chance to give him a normal and safe life with other kids like him, of course she'd go for it. Even if they had a secret agenda, it's not like she'd know. After all, with free food, beds, and training on how to control and use his powers, these people must care about him. What could go wrong, right?

"Trespassing in a commoners home is 1 year in prison...2 if you're discovered to be a thief. The laws on Crex are pretty strict... but to trespass into the palace?" She let out a low whistle. "That's pretty bad." Great. Neo thought, this was just what he needed. Not only was he currently being humiliated by wearing this movement restricting collar, but now he was currently being sassed by a Vaulkarian female that should be in bed and resting. ~~~ Neo Adranni is a charming, puns ahoy kind of guy. In fact, he's not just any guy. He's secretly a prince from planet Valaria who ran away in search for something greater, and so far he thinks he's got it. The life as a thief has been WAY more exhilarating then sitting around in a palace learning proper etiquette. (And of course it's always nice being Vaulkarian, the most gorgeous of humanoid aliens, especially when your in the mood for a quick bump in the night.) Jacquelyn Wake, a small servant girl with a lot of tricks up her sleeves. She's adored by the Queen of Crex, so much so that she's even considered to be the adopted daughter. She works to earn her keep, to help in any way she can if there's a job to be done, against the Queen's wishes might I add. However, despite all this, there has always been something... off about her. She's always watching. Always listening. And always seems to be in the right place at the right time... A true tale of love that only just barely SCRATCHES the surface of what is to come for the galaxy. After all this is just BOOK 1 "Sometimes... Love is worth dying for."

Lucian Fontaine is a single father of three children. He is also the result of a union between a god and a mortal woman, kept busy by his obligations to the system that powers an infinite multiverse and exhausted by his obligations to his family. He relies on his fourteen-year-old son Angel to help manage the workload ... although in the year 2005, Angel is seriously stretching the definition of the word 'reliable'. In many ways, Angel is a normal teenage boy. Distracted in school and failing as a result, bored with his life and annoyed by his family. But especially his father -- he is rarely at home these days, and he expects Angel to be responsible for running the household in his absence, which tends to be kind of complicated when the household is located on an abandoned island in a timeline where most of the human population has died off. The chores are endless, and his younger brother and sister chafe against his authority. He is lonely, overwhelmed, exhausted, and sees no relief in his future ... until by chance he discovers his family may not be so alone in the multiverse after all. In spite of appearances, Angel is no ordinary teenage boy. He is blessed with powers due to his strange ancestry, most of them restricted from his use until his father deems him ready. He knows he has the ability to escape and disappear into the flow of time. All he has to do is unlock his full potential and not get caught by his father. Through his journey, he discovers that nothing and no one is what they seem, and sometimes, his prayers do get answered ... but not remotely in the way he intended. Book 1 in a series about a family struggling to come together against powerful forces with a vested interest in keeping them apart.
The Enigma Protocol: No Brother of Mine (Book 1) by InkVail

Two estranged brothers. One ancient secret. And nowhere to run, not from Enigma, and not from each other. But history won't hand you the truth. You'll have to piece it together yourself. Ask questions. The story might answer back. *** Teorin is close to uncovering the truth behind his father's disappearance, until a stolen drive puts him in the crosshairs of the one person he can't outrun: the brother who left him behind. Marcus walked away to protect his family. Now an old ally drags him back into his brother's orbit, forcing a choice: expose the truth, seek revenge, or protect the brother he thought he'd already lost. In a world scarred by solar storms, power isn't just political, it's biological. People are born with affinities-heat, memory, pressure, time-and someone in the shadows is erasing anyone who digs too deep. 📖 Told through prose, in world documents, and comment threads (yes, the actual comments). Each voice carries its own style, from clipped restraint to dramatic flair. The Enigma Protocol isn't just a story; it's a reconstruction. You'll have to decide where the truth lies. A slow-burn science-fantasy epic for fans of The Expanse, Mistborn, and Annihilation-where found family and fractured loyalties collide with ancient mysteries. 💬 Take part if you want. Ask. Dig. Connect the dots. The story gives as much as you do. ⚠️ Warning: Characters may break containment (yes, they might reply to you). Meet your host on the "Welcome Page"-an optional in-universe introduction. Also available on Royal Road.
