Her screams could be heard from miles away. "No, please. No! Mum!"

"Shit." Levi murmured as he ran at unnatural speed towards the small girls bedroom door, nearly ripping it off as he opened it.

Gently he grabbed her shoulders and shook her, trying to wake her as she thrashed in her sleep. Her body damp with sweat. "Mum!" She cried.

"René, shh it's okay, it's a dream." He whispered.

Her eyes flew open with heavy breaths, scanning the room. "Levi?... Levi!" She cried and flew herself into chest as he gripped his shirt in her tiny hands.

"Hey, it's okay. It's just a dream." He said softly putting his head on the crook of her neck, Resisting the urge to bite her and taste the sweet blood that runs in her veins.

He wanted to protect her with his life, nothing more to see her happy.

"René?" The boy, not much older than her walked into the room and towards her.

Levi watched as the boy wet to hug her. Holding onto her like his life depended on it. "Are you okay my Mate?"

My Mother Runs With Wolves

51 parts Complete

A genetically unique but emotionally lost teenager must figure out who she is within her mixed-up, warring world of Shifters and Wolfstalkers. ***** It wasn't Maddie's choice to be born a half-breed, half Shifter, half Wolfstalker -- a hunter of Shifters -- and it wasn't her choice to keep her identity a secret. But after trying to attend high school like any normal sixteen-year-old, things quickly spiral south when her Stalker uncle finds out about her and catapults her out of anonymity and into the awareness--or possibly the crosshairs--of The Order of the Wolfstalker. Maddie must think fast and figure out a way to keep herself and her family safe, or risk losing everything. Including her life. [[word count: 70,000-80,000 words]]
