Recently I read a science fiction novel where it talked about the future, and what human life might look like in 2075. After reading the sci-fi novel I retired to my bed and often dreamt about aliens and spaceships, where everything seemed possible. In this case the content of my dreams was influenced by the novel and how it referred to scientific advancements in 2075 and the endless possibilities. So I was technically dreaming of concepts which were a work of imagination created by the author of the book. But the question that baffled me was still the same, "what inspired the author's imagination?"

And this is where it gets very interesting. Moreso, because my mind is aware that it has interacted with content that is fictitious, ( Science FICTION Novel ) so, shouldn't this conscious awareness have canceled out its reappearance in the subconscious state of my awareness, that is my sleep? Well, to know, please read this post.

The Captured (free version) by RothuaAK
1 part Complete
It begins near the end, with a man intent on destruction, who feels most of his humanity has gone. As with so many others. Set in a future where almost all sentient life on earth no longer exists. Yet something remains. People continue to live as if nothing has changed, unaware that they are no more than copied memories running in an artificial substrate. In writing The Captured I've tried going some way to explore what defines sentience. And considered the following: Would a machine entity recognize the distinction between itself and biological life - if it could replicate thought and action? And if it could recreate the exact function of a living being what difference does it make whether as flesh or machine? But also this is a human story, though sometimes viewed from an alien perspective... Blurb: [Life is going well for Torbin. A successful career, a happy marriage. Then something strange happens ... and again. So he begins to wonder: has it all been a lie? There is someone who claims to have the answers, a man returned from the past - from the dead. Only it seems someone else wants the truth to remain hidden. An alien visits Earth to study its people. Disguised as a human, her involvement goes far beyond mere observation. She becomes embroiled in a struggle to save what remains of humanity. But already a machine intelligence has transformed Earth into an unrecognisable world, and continues to spread ceaselessly across the galaxy. Yet there is one way to stop them, a weapon held by an old enemy that could itself wipe out all sentient life. There are those who believe they can survive the ultimate destruction. But at what cost?]

❖ Interstellar pilot and ex-adventurer Alex Gallegos must keep their team safe on an icy moon as sentient storms threaten to repeat the tragedy that ended their last career. ❖ Everyone in the United Inhabited Solar Systems (for some reason, UIS for short) knows to stay away from Mahaha. The icy moon is notorious for failed probe landings and research missions that end in tragedy: the only people to ever venture to its surface needed rescuing after just two weeks. When a prestigious research group decides they want a turn, they ask Alex Gallegos to lead the team. Perfectly qualified and haunted by their past, Alex accepts, hoping to make up for old mistakes and get just a little further from the earth they've left behind. Two months into the seven-month mission, the team is struggling with discontent, damaged equipment, and blizzards acting less and less like normal weather. As Mahaha moves out of range of help and the storms take on a more malicious character, Alex must face the one foe they could never have prepared for. Mahaha may or may not be alive. ❖❖❖ Complete. Wattys 2021 Shortlister. Standalone sequel (Rocks Can Dance) coming in 2023. Comments and critiques are both welcome and appreciated. I write characters from many different backgrounds, with many different experiences. If you share those traits and find that I have misrepresented anything, please let me know! I am feedback-friendly and here to learn :)
The Twisted Tales by LuciferKreuger

A place where true love expires, good people get fired and beings are nothing but dust. Where stalkers are heroes, society makes zeroes and madness is not in the crust. Some people are killers, and that's just the pillars of what is essentially rust. When you feel you are mad, but that isn't so bad in a world that is oh so unjust. They'll kill you by car, or from quite afar in a world where all life is fleeting. Don't try to protect, you'll just end up wrecked, for you know their hearts are not beating. They'll kill you my sweet, and not drop a beat, for my story is only just heating. Power means all, even more for the small, but power has a habit of retreating. The bodies mount up, many lives will breakup, as I'm here to just tell a story. Don't look in the hill, though it is quite a thrill, I've heard it can get quite gory. Don't play with the heart, and don't think you're too smart, or you'll die with none of the glory. All are mad from the start, but you played your part, in the world of pure purgatory. Alas look a ghost, be careful you're not toast, you must want to see what I see. Society is ruthless, protection is fruitless, for in madness is when you are free. Perfection is dead, from the wounds we all bled, a cruel fate we did not foresee. While outsiders are safer, if only by a wafer, you can still hear them utter a plea. Now my story is frightening, but oh so inviting, so come now and give it a whirl. I can promise some danger, so don't be a stranger, watch now - we will see it unfurl.

Soon, one thing becomes clear: Tartaros is more than just a dream, and as the lines between reality and her subconscious begin to blur, Sky is forced to question her own perception of the world. Meanwhile, more and more mysterious accidents shake the city of Pharos to the core, threatening the safety and security of the last surviving humans on earth. Through her own accident, Sky finds herself drawn into the investigation of an enigmatic task force. "I saw you and you were just standing there. I started walking towards you and you-just-just stood there." Stuttered Stiles. "I tapped on your shoulder and you turned around. You didn't answer me. You didn't even notice I was there. You just stared at something, something that wasn't visible and y-you-" Paused Stiles, whose legs were vibrating and he started to breathe heavily. "And I what?" I asked trying to get the words out. "You died." He stated. "What?" Asked I, like he had just said the most craziest thing ever. It was slightly humorous. He had to be joking, I thought to myself. "You- just died." Murmured Stiles, who had stopped shaking and had stood up. -------------- The world consists of many parallel multiverses. Each separate and unique. We all know Earth 1, yet not many people are familiar to the lost planet, Earth 1000. The planet was Imperium; Declared the most powerful, biggest rogue planet of the multiverse- many people sought out to rule it. Therefore a war was sparked. Some people say, that the planet birthed death because of the deadly war. However, something else was birthed, an heir. Her name was Milia. She possessed true power and ultimately ended the war. Milia ruled the world and her children became the inevitable successors. Although they lacked Milia's gift, the future generation, though it was thousand's of years later contained Milia's powers. The children were named the true heir, therefore they were hunted. No hunter was more well known than the bitch, the baddest; Methaya. Being half human, half snake, her luminescent eyes turned the living into the inanimate. To save her children, the Queen of the planet rifted her children into Earth, where they lived for 500 years, unaware of their cursed destiny. After a prophecy declaring that the oldest would die, the truth started unravelling and they learnt things- that would change things forever. Genre: Mystery, Fiction and Fantasy Warning: it does contain cuss words.

Finding Finn Reed

20 parts Complete Mature

I've seen the same man die over a thousand times. I've memorized the exact time, and the exact way he dies. There hadn't been a single moment where I wanted to give up, where I decided to just quit. Regardless of how many times I failed, I found him in unparalleled ways. The phenomenon I called Time Hopping all began when Finn Reed died. ______________________________________________________________________________ Melanie Abner has to watch her best friend Finn Reed die countless times in an attempt to save him with her new found ability of Time Hopping. She meets Atticus, another Time Hopper who explains to her everything about her ability, and the truth behind Melanie's past. As convincing as Atticus sounds, Melanie can't seem to accept certainty of Finn's death. As time seems to pass by however, she realizes that sometimes it's best to accept the things you cannot change, and move forward with the things you can. (DISCLAIMER: This is the first book I've written, so it's somewhat of a practice. Either way, I hope you enjoy it as much as I enjoyed writing it!)
