Akira, a serious, unassuming, yet loving young girl is born into a family in which she is not at all comfortable! Her father Guthred was a coward, she knew that from the day he sold Uhtred and Halig to a slave trader!

Her aunt Gisela, on the other hand, was her everything! They loved each other unconditionally and protected each other wherever they could! But when Gisela runs away one day because of Guthred's actions, Akira has to decide with whom she wants to spend the rest of her life!

She knew that Uhtred would return and that there was no way she could tear herself away from his youngest member: Sihtric Kjartansson! He was at least as inconspicuous as her and had a heart of gold!

She liked him and he liked her! So it wasn't long before they had feelings for each other and Akira knew she would follow him anywhere! That's how it came about that she turned her back on her father and travelled around with Sihtric!

He had the task of informing Hild about everything that happened in her absence! And that's exactly what he did...Akira was just his little helper!

But one day, when everything seemed to collapse, it all became too much for Akira and she pushed everyone away! Sihtric, Finan, Osferth and Uhtred didn't understand what was going on with her and had to watch how the once so loving Akira became a heartless and cruel person...
