Main character of PJO, Percy Jackson himself died to Ouranos in battle (Which wasn't a fair fight because he was already weary) and Ouranos continues to wreak havoc on the world. Demigods try to defeat him, but they cannot, many die trying. They've known about a prophecy for some years now, that a child of the tide will defeat the sky and save everyone and they assumed it was Percy, considering he was the only child of Poseidon.
Soon enough (12 years after Percy's death) comes a new demigod named Sargo, he doesn't know his heritage and had just learned that he was a demigod, but various circumstances point to him being a son of Poseidon, and when he is eventually determined, he has to figure out this whole demigod business, and fast.
Meanwhile Annabeth Chase, former lover of Percy Jackson and daughter of Athena takes notice of something about Sargo not even the god Dionysus or their counselor Chiron has yet realized but she must come to terms with what this means for her, but is she willing to admit it to herself and other so that she can help save the camp and even the world (for the third time in her life)?
Also, Grover, Percy's best friend who is a satyr is faced with a decision to become a god, but he doesn't know if it's morally right to take on the ex-position of Pan, who was formally god of the wild and has been deceased for many years now. He knows that he's currently the best candidate for it, and he's already lost his best friend. What's he got to lose except for everything else he knows and loves including his now wife, Juniper? Sure, he could make her immortal but he hardly could handle watching people in one lifeline wither away, how could he manage to watch even more unfurl in front of his eyes? Will Grover decide to make a decision even Percy turned down when he was twelve, or will he decide it's for the best?
Only time will be able to tell the answers to these questions but they best figure out the answers soon, because it's running out.
