Will byers is growing through as sorts of stress and confusion, Will must navigate his own emotions, as well as the challenges of being a queer teenager in a small town and the potential risks of telling his best friend how he feels. Will must be brave and overcome his anxiety to express his true feelings in a way that will not ruin his friendship with Mike.
The action in this fanfic also comes from the dramatic tension between Will and Mike as they slowly begin to realize that their feelings for each other may be more than platonic.
