like all other young people, Nicola is eager to find if she's one of the few with super blood. if not, she'll remain human for the rest of her life. if she is a hero, then she'll get the ability to attend a school for supers only. however in the town she was born into, all supers are killed at discovery. All of discovery's have been made on the 13th birthday. With one exception.
Her grandmother received her gift at 12. her parents are both human, and they hope the same for their daughter. although she could die either way. the testing methods have a history of eliminating a few humans by mistake. this year, a new system is in place, and no one knows what to expect. Will she run away for safety despite not knowing her future? will she be human? what do the other towns think of supers? what exactly happened to her grandmother?

"Are you coming to bed firefly?" He says to me laying his hands over my waist joining me in looking over the city. "I want to look out for a little longer if that is alright?" I mumble hoping that he heard me anyways, I wasn't ready to walk into that bedroom, and I don't think I ever would be. "Of course, I'll be getting ready for bed, come in whenever you are ready." He says confidently and walks away leaving my waist cold something for which I am grateful. Especially when my mind burns with other more dangerous thoughts. The warmth that forever lingers in the air, never burning the skin, but always reminding about what is around us. I force air into my lungs feeling the unexpected warmth fill me. He stands in the room watching me even though he said he was getting ready for bed. He is worried about me, about me jumping. I have contemplated it I will admit, but he would stop me before I fell even two feet. I was stuck, and no one could save me. Not even myself, my fucking weak self. His presence is demanding no matter where we are, but right now I could sense everything about him, and I try to suppress the unwanted feelings that curl right under my skin. "Firefly? About done?" He calls out and I release my hand from the guard rail not realizing that as I looked at the lights that covered the shining city with the falling fire in the background that my subconscious was thinking about how nice it would be... how relieving it would be... to just fall. True freedom. I take a step back and wrap my hands together turning around to a fully clothed unchanged man and nod once. I could see the fear in his eyes that I would, he knows if he gave me the chance... I wasn't ready for this, but I had to survive. No matter what. These questions her parents had were answered a couple of months later, when Y/N her back exploded in two giant dark grey colored wings. Her parents didn't know what to do, so instead of sending her off to school they kept her hidden. Hidden from peoples sight, Hidden from society. Years passed and Y/N just turned 17, however her home started to get boring. The teenager longed for friends and people around her other than her family. But they just couldn't put her out in the world. One year passed once again as Y/N decided to run away from her parents, away from captivity, away from everything. Without any help or an education 18 year old Y/N ran away to LA, One of the most successfull cities. She soon turned 20 when she learnt she could shape shift. The reason why her eyes glowed when she was still a kid. Everything seemed to be fine. She lived somewhere in the woods in a cabin where she could develope her powers which were Fire, Flying and shape shifting, she didn't know it would only get her in trouble. Five beautiful, talented girls run into her one day, little did they all know, it would completely change their lifes. Would the girls be able to free Y/N? But she's not the only one, there are nine others supposed to be besides her; two of which never made it past their mother's womb and one who's incompatible. What makes them special, is also what makes them dangerous. Ripped from their normal, day-to-day,school life, family and friends with no warning, they find out who they are. And why they're alive. But fitting back into that normal life they missed so much is proving to be hard. Especially for Maya, who has a tendency to get herself in trouble and extraordinary situations ENTIRELY her fault. (She'd rather die than admit that of course) Old life brings the problem of boys, unwanted advances, homework, teachers and of course, a boyfriend with she had a rather uncharacteristic meet-up. Scott, Sed, Andy are her childhood friends all the way with her in this. Almost all the way. They didn't expect her to change or to come back at all and they are having a HARD time adjusting to the new Maya. She's dangerous, she's hot and she knows it. She has done a lot in the past two years that will catch up to her and stuff after that which refuses to stay hidden. Kara paced the bathroom floor. Something had made her choose to do this, but she didn't know what. She continued to pace for three minutes until the timer went off. Once it did she raced into the kitchen and grabbed the test on her sink. She turned it over and saw the words PREGNANT, sprawled on the screen. "I-i can't be!" Kara said to herself. Seconds later her door flew open, causing her to hid the test and turn. "Oh it's just you, Lena you scared me" Kara said. She had tears in her eyes but refused to let them fall. - After a drunk slip up with Lena, Kara ends up pregnant with her child. Before Kara has a chance to tell her, Lena ends their friendship after finding out the truth of Kara's identity. Kara leaves National City without telling a soul about the baby or about Lena . When Lena finds out she makes Kara move in with her for the remaining months of her pregnancy. So this is a story I wrote about a girl named Nova. She lives in a world where everyone has a supernatural power. Nova is 13, and if a person's power doesn't show by the time they're 14, they're given to the Government to either be tested or killed. The Government basically makes all the decisions for the whole country. So, Nova's 13, and she still hasn't discovered her powers. When her birthday comes, she still has no power. She can either be sent to the Government, for either testing or death, or she can risk her life running away. I created this story, I created these characters, the characters and the plot are mine.
