Susan was one of the weakest. One of the youngest. Then something changed; she was one of the most feared. One of the most respected. When Thomas first arrives on the Glade, he's confused, just like everyone first was. He was even more confused when he saw one girl among who knows how many boys. Nobody is willing to answer the majority of his questions, especially about the mysterious Susan. He is told to stay away from her, unless he has a death wish.
