He had grown more than accustomed to a life of solitude, deep in the Alaskan wilderness. He was very successful in his own, niche community. Isaac "Doc" Jones was a dog musher, as hardy as they come, self-sufficient, and strong. The man and his team won countless of long races, just themselves to depend on, dogs of his lines used successfully all over the world. Other than his loyal team, Arlo was alone, and he wouldn't have it any other way.
But life never goes the way you hope it will, now does it? The mistake was a simple one, really. Plenty of dog mushers, new and old, make it. During the excitement of a race, he'd taken a turn too fast, and unfortunately, getting crushed between a tree and heavy sled was not a forgiving thing. Luckily, it was just a broken leg. But even a broken leg needs time to heal, and 35 dogs still howl excitedly at meal time, no matter how heavy that bucket is, or how sore you feel. The last thing Doc wanted was to have to hire someone, and have to deal with not only spending money, but share a house, and break his long streak of solitude. The last person he wanted to share it with was the bubbly, college drop-out, but here he was. She would work for cheap, and start soon. And Doc had very few options, so Daisy would have to do.
Hello! Just a cute, grumpy x sunshine trope. Gonna be a (legal) age difference, obvs, cause I love DILFS. I love dark shit, angst, and unhappy endings, so be prepared (:
Nixon is the 3rd book in the Broken Series. (Ryan is the 1st, Brynn is the 2nd)
Nixon leaves rehab early because he can't deal with being there anymore. His sister Kelis finds someone in need of a roommate so he moves in with the girl and gives her his middle name, Lucas. He quickly becomes addicted to the girl and once he gets one taste he's done for. He warns her about his past, about his name, but she ignores all the red flags, not realizing exactly how intertwined she is with the people from his past. He becomes enamored with her, feels like she was made for him while still battling the demons of his past and soon it all becomes too much for him to handle. He makes a heartbreaking decision, thinking it's what's best for both of them and everything changes.
