Alora has always carried the burden of who she was on her shoulders. All her life she's been told she needs to be responsible. That she needs to keep the safety of everyone around her in mind to train her for the role she would eventually take over. Who they are is not for the world to see, and family is what's most important. Her escape from the pressure? - is her magic. Being able to fly through the air or the feeling of being connected to all the organisms around her keeps her grounded. Of course, this has limits. The government she lives in hunts those of her kind because they've been painted to the public as too dangerous to let run around free. Alora is just trying to live a normal life. Can she?

To avoid being executed she must to make allies among her enemies, get out of the heroine's way, and untangle herself from the poisonous intrigue of court the best she can in the role of a future courtier. However, the vaguely described backdrop said nothing about the conflicts building beyond the heroine's understanding, or that women weren't allowed on the battlefield. I am honestly left speechless. I am very touched and honored by all the attention, by all the sweet, beautiful and fun comments I've received over the last month, it's been truly amazing.
