If you prefer vampires that bite instead of sparkle - then this is the story for you. 

Melancholy is an enemies-to-lovers M/F romance set against a dark fantasy backdrop, with a murder mystery plotline sprinkled in. Expect explicit content, dark themes, an independent and self-sufficient female protagonist, and a vampire villain love interest who has a good side (but buried very deep down!). 

It is the first book in The Blacksmith of Sahra Chronicles, which is currently set to be a trilogy. 

Triggers: explicit sexual content, vampires drinking blood, the death of a parent, a serial killer whose victims are female, swearing, light BDSM themes, power imbalance in a romantic relationship, war and violence, and general patriarchal bullshit that you'd expect from a medieval-like era.  This story is not intended for anyone under the age of 18.
