Fresh from university, 21 year old Megan has just inherited her Grandmother's cottage in the rural canal-side village of Alrington, along the Trent and Mersey Canal. In a custody fight with her mother over her 4 year old daughter, she's determined to prove to her that she's accomplished enough to be a good mother for her child. She lands herself a job at the local pub whilst attempting to write her first novel on the side. Her life is so busy right now that she's almost forgotten the boy she met here those 5 summers ago, the one that she never got to meet again. Until one rainy night a familiar face walks into the pub and all the memories of that summer come flooding back...

**** 5 years earlier ****

16 year old Megan's got to admit she's not happy about having to spend the summer with her estranged Grandma Ruth in the canal-side village of Alrington aka: the middle of nowhere. She hasn't even met her grandmother before due to a family feud, but her mum needs to travel out of the country for her work and she can't take Megan with her.

Once Megan arrives though, her perspective changes completely. The quaint little village is stunning, and Megan can't help but spend every moment there outside by the lock taking it all in. Lots of boats pass by but one sunny day she meets Ash aboard 'Aurora Sky' and soon begins their summer romance.

They plan to meet at the same time and date a year from now, however these things never go how you expect do they?
