Legions howl like the death of decades in an abandoned century.

A woman who's time is fed flees from a traitorous, high-rise dwelling of cullers; survivors who she  destroys for the murder of her family. What might've been follow in the steps of her past.

Her sanity crunches like the disruption of bones from sockets.

She escapes into the steps of her future, through a vermilion city of what might've been; the anthropophilic epistemology of eschatology. 

Disintegrating flip flops are all that prevent her bare feet from touching savage ground. Mal'akhs.  A zoo. The highway. Fundamentalist campers hunted by a pack of hyenas. 

This is the story of time's fed. She runs from the aftermath to the epilogue, through the diluvian apocalypse of what might've been; through extinction and the final horrors within the Ark of a young earthen God.

God and Man are undead.

But as her stay extends, the wildlife comes knocking at their door and paints warnings on the windows. She finds herself trapped in the eternal night of winter with the wolves circling, intent on making her theirs. But Theo's petals are unfurling, and the end result may be more beautiful and bloody than any of them imagined. --- Marked Mature for mature themes. War In Embers is a currently completed script in its final iteration, spanning 51 chapters + a prologue and bonus content. This means that scheduled updates will not be missed, as while the work is not fully released, it is fully completed. It alters my very thoughts and reactions. It taunts me by tempting me with desires that it planted in my brain. These bloodthirsty desires would lead to my demise if I ever gave in. I have more in common with the zombies than with humans at this point. Even the fallen zombies accept me as one of their own. Blood is required to retain my grip on sanity, but the sweet-smelling blood from humans is a short path to madness. Human blood is to be avoided at all costs. Humankind around the world was driven close to extinction by the sudden appearance of the zombies, yet small groups of survivors constantly manage to appear and put my control to the test. -------------------------- This is a standalone zombie book.
