Shadows Underneath

"Please... I can't do it! You know I can't. Please, just take me home!" I shout at him, pacing across the room.

"I can't believe that. We can't afford...I can't afford to lose you. You're a sinner's last hope, Freya." he pants.

I was laying in my bed after crying heavily. My cheeks felt heavy with blood. My eyes were stiff from my tears. I watched the snow fall in malice and torment. My room in covered in shadows. My heart is filled to the brim with them. The worst day of the year. The anniversary of their death. I rest my arm off the side of my white sheets. I stare at my limp fingers with my only good eye left after the accident. I close my eyes for just one second. I should have never closed them. I didn't know that I was soon to be pulled under into this hell under the surface. They're testing me, seeing if my soul is dark enough to be a reaper and he won't let me go.
