The world was split upon the decision impacting the lives of those against the idea, they were left to survive on a dying planet while those deemed good enough were allowed onto hovering cities. Living on the impoverished half of the city would be Lou, he goes by many names though prefers Lou out of simplicity. He's a peaceful guy just making a living picking up surface trinkets and valuables. Some creatures were completely alien and others were familiar looking as if they'd stepped from myth and legend. Unfortunately for our MC Jack, embracing newfound power and going out to valiantly battle monsters isn't quite as simple as most other people have it. He possesses the rare and not so sought after lightning element, considered the weakest element for certain reasons, pitied and looked down upon Jack is determined to become a successful monster hunter in a more and more dangerous world. A slow burn story with world building, dungeon delving, character progression, Litrpg elements and more. WARNING - The MC is not a Mary Sue, he is not super competent, or super powerful or super intelligent nor a paragon of virtue, just a normal guy in a not so normal situation and him growing to deal with it in his own way.

Sometimes, even monsters want to go where every one knows their name. Short Story 4 Lily lived a happy but simple life in her village, despite the war against the magical beasts of world still raging. When the war finally reaches the village, she expected her life to end with her family. She never expected a man to appear and offer her a deal. Tales Of Wonder are short stories that are tied in to a novel I've had in my head for years. They are related to the novel and each other. These stories are mainly to motivate me and to test out different writing styles. Each short story will be written in different styles. They take place in a world where magic and science combine. The first story here, I admit leaves the rules of the world and how everything works a little vague but each short story will add more and eventually the novel will tie up the magic system. I am a reader of crime novels and hard science fiction almost exclusively, and yet this story, which I have been writing for a long time, is a love story, I can't explain it even to myself. The characters will have to work through hardship and evolve to be able to surrender to the magical things around them and the flow of the universe and the love of other people. This story still is a work in progress, it has holes and it is to be continued
