Lake Riverton is just a normal 14 year old girl, until the Government announced that all teens from the ages of 14 to 16 are to participate in an event called The Trials. They want to test a new drug that will enhance human abilities, for example if you are naturally good at combat then this drug will enhance that ability, but what they didn't tell the public of Australia was how they planned to test this drug to see if it worked. To test this drug each teen would be split into age groups and skill type, for example strength, stealth and speed, if you happen to be a person with these three abilities then you would be put with others like you. To win these 'Trials' you have to fight to survive literary, and only 6 can survive out of the 50 going into the stadium. 3 boys and 3 girls, the reason for the numbering doesn't matter now but it will later in the story, so keep it in mind.
