Azur Lane - Our New Commander is a Newbie?

Azur Lane, somewhere in the ocean, a place for no other except the ship girls who reside there. One human either male or female is tasked to carry out orders to protect and lead the ship girls as a commander and change every 3 years after service. Commanders with years of training and experience are only eligible for this role and anyone who seeks to be a pretender are severely punished.

Except for one man, Jacob Summers, a complete noob at naval warfare or anything else related. A simple civilian turned Commander without training or experience tasked to be a replacement for one year from a situation gone wild. Will he be able to survive with the ship girls?
