For the entirety of her life, Karen has had numerous last names owing to her continuous transfer of foster homes. Her own last name is a mystery to both herself and those around her. She is an outcast, and it's not because she is an orphan. At sixteen, she is 'Hallows' and is involuntarily associated with the miserable side of society. She spends her time preventing playboys Shaye and Roy from causing trouble, and at the same time, staying away from trouble herself. It shouldn't be too much of a surprise when she is kidnapped after trying a good deed by two mysterious offenders. Both are strange, and not because of their weird fashion senses.  Jose is not only literally red-headed, but hot-headed. Quinn is aloof and silver-haired. Both have an air of mystery surrounding them, however Karen does little to pry as her new lifestyle is by far preferable compared to her fostering homes. However, Karen's life is truly overturned not by her strange kidnappers, but by her kidnappers’ secrets.
