I am not what the world tells me I am as a black woman I an supreme and I control my destiny. This poem was inspired by my sister who means the world to me. My younger sister Ammiyah came to me one day and said that she wished that she were white and she didn't want to be black because of all the mean things her classmates would say to her. I told her that the melanin that we produced is a gift and that we are stronger than the words they throw around.
