I've always hated the saying "Time heals all wounds." Maybe in most cases that may be true. In my experience with life and pain however, time has only ever bled out the wound. The scars that the wounds left behind though, are often so deep that just looking at them becomes painful to the mind. Time only heals what you let go of. Sometimes letting go and moving on just doesn't feel possible; no matter how much time you let pass you by. These poems signify what time hasn't healed for me.

What a beautiful thing to be able to express the hardships of life through rythmes and poetic lines of words and sayings. I hope when someone reads this book they feel seen. Wither you feel seen through the heartbreak, grief, love, and trauma I understand you. You are not broken, you are beautiful. Those who couldn't be understood are the ones with stories to tell and deep bright souls.

People think they know you by what they see, they believe that what is shown on the outside is a reflection of what is on the inside, but they're wrong. Things can be much darker then the candy skin you see on the outside, the happy mask you come to know so well is just hiding the left overs of a broken, beaten, sad and lonely girl. Family, friends, people you have given so much trust just leaves you to fight for your own, never looking back on the girl they betrayed. Life is not full of happy families and butterflies, life is hard and unfair, it can kill you off if it wanted to and beat you down even more for the fun of it all.
